Not too bad a day today, if you don't mind motorway riding. Needs must though, with several hundred miles to cover in a day. One benefit though, of constant 70mph cruising, is the Sprint returning up to 70mpg. Weather was ok for the most part of the journey but we were forewarned of the showers to hit the region later, so it wasn't a surprise when we had to make a quick stop under a motorway bridge to get into the waterproofs. What was a surprise was the border control on entering Denmark, the first we'd come across.
Dinner was taken in the hotel, with our first taste of the Scandinavian cost of living, dinner costing us about £35 each! We then took a walk into town, where we got rained on again. We took refuge in an 'Engllsh' bar, called You'll Never Walk Alone, bedecked with all manner of football memorabilia. Not sure I've ever seen an English bar like it, more like the sort of thing you'd get in Greece or Turkey. A pint of 'cheaper' Belgian ale slipped down quite nicely though.
Tomorrow, we have about 170 miles to go to get to the ferry at Hirtshals, thankfully, only the first part on motorway. When we get off the ferry in Kristiansand, Norway tomorrow evening, that's when the tour really starts. Until then.
